The Joy of Animal Communication, by Jennifer Johnson

Jan 31, 2025

As long as I can remember animals have been a big part of my life. My dad brought my first puppy home when I was three years old. She was a beagle and I named her Candy. We were inseparable!

Being a sensitive child, I had a strong connection with animals and their emotional and physical well being. I fondly remember the times spent at our cottage where I would sit in the tall grass or walk along the beach and connect with birds, grasshoppers, and even a fawn that took a liking to our backyard. Some years later when we moved to Europe two canaries, Paul and Pauline, who kept me company, had a lot to say! When I would come home from school, or during summer break, I would often visit the horses at a nearby stable. I would feel such a sense of joy and peace. The more time I spent in nature, or with my pets, the greater the connection grew.

Growing up I was somewhat aware of the connection that I felt, but could by no means explain it in a way that made sense. I had no idea that these animal friends were preparing me for what I love to do today.

Animals are innately psychic and communicate by using energy. They use their intuition every day all day long. Animals can send us messages in several ways. For example, through visual communication; a picture in our mind's eye. Or through sound, as you may hear a cat meowing in the distance. They may also send a message through your feelings. You might receive a thought and have an inner knowing that your dog is afraid of driving in the car.

Yes, animals use their five senses to communicate with humans. Everyone has the ability to communicate and to understand conscious thought forms. However, sometimes humans have forgotten this. It is our birthright!

Those of you who have animal companions know how we grow and learn through the unique relationship that we have with our pets. Even though we are of a different species, our bond is close and the relationship is special. They are very aware of the energy that exists on our planet. I believe they are “light workers” like many of us.

Animal communication is expansive and it includes all of the Animal Kingdom...those in the wild as well as our cuddly companions. One of the first connections that I did in a workshop was with an alligator. All animals whether on land or in water call us on a journey of self discovery, trust and opening up our heart centre a little more. The animals wish to help the human race grow and want to work with us.

When we open up to animals it's important to remember to “just be.” Be in the moment, be in the NOW. This is where the magic happens! I am sure that most people have heard of Dr. Dolittle. If we ‘Do Little’, and quiet the mind, we can open up the lines of communication with our pets and other animals.

If you are interested in learning some skills to allow you to better connect to your animals, I have doing an introductory workshop on March 9 titled Angels and Animal Communication.  For details and to register, CLICK HERE.  (scroll down the page to my Workshops section to find the listing)
